Lim Baobabs aim for Telkom Netball League title

There is an optimistic mood in the Limpopo Baobabs netball team's camp as they prepare for the Telkom Netball League.

POLOKWANE – The Telkom Netball League is set to commence in October and team manager Denise Bothma said they are capable of competing for the title.

She said their ultimate goal, however, is to improve from last year’s position.

“We definitely want to compete for the title. Going there as underdogs and coming back with the title will be the best result ever. We do, however, understand that we are playing in a difficult competition and players have promised to bring their top game each match,” Bothma said.

The team held a preparation camp at Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sport Complex on August 7.

Bothma said the camp allowed the technical team to work and sharpen the players’ agility, skills and mental fitness. “It was a great camp. The players showed a lot of determination and dedication. Their spirits are high and positive.”

She added that the team looks forward to stamp their authority on the league. “The girls are very excited about the league. The majority of them are new to the league but they are ready for the challenge that they will face. They want to do well for the province and raise the provincial flag high,” Bothma concluded.
