Water shortage in high-lying area under investigation, says muni

Water supply will be restored to the Mall of the North and surrounding estates once the cause has been identified and resolved, says the Polokwane Municipality.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality is aware of water shortages in the high-lying area and has sent a municipal team to investigate.

According to municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala the areas affected include Mall of the North and the surrounding estates. “The municipal team is investigating the cause and will restore water supply once the cause has been identified and resolved.” He urged the public to use water sparingly until the matter is resolved. Over the weekend several areas within the city experienced water supply challenges due to low reservoir levels. The areas affected included Flora Park, Nirvana, Northview Estate, parts of Bendor, parts of the central business district (CBD) and Thornhill and at the time Selala said the municipality will investigate the issues that led to low reservoir levels.
