Changes at golf club for fresher, tastier offerings

Frequent golfers to the Polokwane Golf Club might have noticed a few changes recently.

The Pro Shop has moved to where the halfway house used to be, while the halfway house is now situated where the Proshop used to be. Club Manager, Louis le Roux explains the reason behind the move is to give better service to players.

“By changing the location of the halfway house, we do not need to run two kitchens. In the past the kitchen had to prepare food for the halfway house where it will stand until the players arrived, they often told us that the food is tasty but they can taste its been standing for while. We will also work on a grab-and-go system as we noticed it works better.”

Another addition to the halfway house will be dry catering, that includes snacks including crisps and chocolates.

The new addition will also include a menu for children.

“We can also serve warm meals which we previously could not do. The plan is to be more family-orientated. Our refrigerators in the bar area will also stock ciders and all the stock will be visible.”

Other additions to the halfway house include a small boardroom and a banquette store where there will be a demo table, showing clients what is on offer.

The renovations of the halfway house should be done by the end of the month. In July, the club will host the Limpopo Open which is an international ranking event.
