Celente aims to better her national ratings

Local talented tennis player, Celente Badenhorst hopes for a great performance at the ProKennex Mini Tennis tournament, hosted by Tennis South Africa (TSA) at the Polokwane Tennis Courts today.

Badenhorst says she needs to do well in the championship in order for her to qualify for the national TSA selection event to be hosted in Bloemfontein in April.

“This is the tournament I am most looking forward to. I am currently ranked 175 in my age group. I need to win all my matches in order to break into the top 20. I have been training hard and I am eager to do well.”

The 17-year-old Hoërskool Pietersburg, Gr 11 learner will compete against players from across the country on Saturday.

Her coach, Amos Magagula said she is capable of achieving her goals and make it to the top 20. She has been working hard on her game and wants to improve. She just needs to stay positive and remember all the basics.”
