Thornhill Centre supports Movember with ‘Mo-Ment’

Thornhill Shopping Centre hosted its first ‘Mo-Ment’ Movember event in support of men’s cancer and mental health awareness.

Thornhill Shopping Centre hosted its first ‘Mo-Ment’ Movember event in support of men’s cancer and mental health awareness on Saturday, 28 November.
Businesses and SMME’s were given an opportunity to display and sell their products on the day, which included home decor, traditional beaded artwork, wired animal art, fashionable clothes and hand bags, toys, paintings, hair extensions and more.
Food and refreshments were also available. Marise Rademan, one of the organisers said residents tend to forget about the issues men face.
“Movember.com uses the money to set up hotlines which assist men from all walks of life face challenging. Along with the donation boxes placed at Hussians, all proceeds generated from the stall fees will be donated to the Movember organisation,” Marise said.
She said they aim to make the event an annual feature on the Thornhill Cares Events calendar.
The Polokwane Municipality assisted some of the SMME’s through monetary support to be able to afford their stalls.
They provided transport and assisted them to set up their stalls.
