2 in court for exam fraud

A female matric pupil and a man are expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of examination fraud

POLOKWANE – A 22 -year old female grade 12 learner appeared in the Seshego magistrate’s court on Monday (today) after she and her co-accused were apprehended on charges of fraud on Friday.

She was to have written her physical science examinations last week, but examination invigilators noticed that the candidate  list said a female candidate should have written the exams, but instead there was a male candidate writing the exams.

They called the police and the 22 year old grade 12 learner and the 24-year old person who wrote the exam for her was apprehended at the Rev MP Malatji Primary School.

According to Paena Galane, spokesperson for the department of education, the grade twelve learner and her co-accused received free bail and would again appear in court in February.

He said the learner would be blacklisted and could not write exams within the next two years, according to regulations.
