The Department of Transport and Community Safety mourns the untimely death of two officials who alleged collapsed and died this morning (Friday).
According to departmental Spokesperson Joel Seabi, one official worked in the MEC’s while the other was employed at the Police garage in Ladanna. He said the two fellows collapsed and died at their respective work places this morning.
He said the two were certified dead by the paramedics on the scene. Although the course of their shocking deaths is stil unknown at the moment, Seabi requested that the two families should be given time to get to terms with the incidents.
Seabi said “The department is still in shock and MEC Dickson Masemola together with Head of Department, Hanli du Plessis took a decision to let officials knock off early today. We are still shocked and it is not easy to accept that the department lost two work force members almost at the same time.”
Seabi added that more details will be issued in due course after all has been sorted with the two affected families. He concluded by saying the department will assist the families where necessary as he send the department’s deepest condolences to the affected families.
