Mediclinic Limpopo delivered the best return on investment of all the group’s hospitals in South Africa over its 21 years of existence and remains committed to provide unsurpassed service to its patients in times to come.
This was the promise of Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa, Koert Pretorius when he addressed guests at the hospital’s 21st anniversary celebration hosted at Sun Meropa on Friday evening.
Guests of honour at the event were Pretorius, Regional Chief Operations Officer of Mediclinic Tshwane Region, Johann Geertsema, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Mediclinic Limpopo, Nic van Reede van Oudtshoorn, Mediclinic Limpopo General Manager MC Botha and former Manager of Mediclinic Limpopo, Leon Lambrechts.
Pretorius said the Mediclinic Group has over the years spent in excess of R294 million on the local facilities. “Key challenges from a private healthcare perspective are political uncertainty, low economic growth, significant regulatory developments, affordability of healthcare, a fragmented private healthcare delivery model and the global shortage of healthcare professionals,” Pretorius said and added that the private healthcare market was not growing and that affordability was a major challenge.
“We are not negative, but we are concerned,” he said.
“We must focus relentlessly on results. Our performance should be measured robustly and we have to ensure that we provide the best clinical care and patient experience at the lowest possible cost,” Pretorius reckoned.
Pretorius extended a special word of appreciation to the staff, doctors and other professionals for their efforts to keep Mediclinic Limpopo the top performer in the sector.
Mediclinic Limpopo Patient Experience Manager and co-organiser of the event, Istha McMillan said it was a great honour to host the cream of the city’s medical profession at this most successful event.
