A manhunt launched by Police in Polokwane continues for a suspect who allegedly broke into a room shared by two women at the corner of Potgieter and Outspan avenues early resulting in them being robbed and one allegedly being raped.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe indicated that the two victims, aged 18 and 23, were sleeping when accosted by a person wearing dark clothes who had reportedly gained access to their room by breaking the door.
He allegedly threatened his victims with a knife and raped the 23-year-old before fleeing the scene with two cell phones, two laptops, the victims’ wallets and some items of clothing. The value of the robbed items is, according to Ngoepe, estimated at R22 000.
Cases of rape and house robbery are being investigated.
