NCAW launches Mabel Chueu branch

The provincial office of National Council of African Women (NCAW) launched the Mabel Chueu branch in Polokwane on Saturday.
Chueu, the late mother of South African football icon and former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns coach Harris Chueu, was an executive member of the council.
As a social worker and community developer she tirelessly served the community of Limpopo with passion and dedication and in so doing uplifted the lives of many. Even in retirement she continued to assist communties and through her intervention preserved many families.

Kentse Makgae, NCAW Provincial spokesperson said the launch was a way of honouring Chueu for her commitment to community development. “We remember her for the role she played in uplifting the lives of many black communities, empowering women and ensuring that children in rural areas have access to basic education. The branch bearing her name will also help the organisation in addressing the needs of the sick, indigent and orphaned in the province, adopting schools and encouraging pupils to read and write,” Makgae said. Harris described his mother as a kind hearted person, role model and beacon of hope in her community.
