The Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 added a new member to its ranks with the recent induction of Martin Potgieter as a new Rotarian. Potgieter’s wife, Annelize was also welcomed as a Rotary Ann.
Martin is a Professor in the Biodiversity Department in the Science Faculty at the University of Limpopo.
President of the club, Johan Joubert congratulated Martin on his induction and said that membership of Rotary is a honour and a privilege with corresponding duties and obligations.
“The community will know and judge Rotary by the actions of its members. Therefore, membership of Rotary is limited to those who possess the qualities that will further the goals of Rotary in line with the motto ‘Service above self’. Rotarians are chosen because we are confident that the image and ideals of Rotary are safe in their keeping,” Joubert said.
The events of the evening were concluded with a Bingo game under direction of Rotarian John Dunlevey.
