Seshego born and bred film producer Gregory Mthanji was among the well-known movie makers to produce a movie titled ‘3 Days To Go’ which is expected to be released in cinemas on 25 January.
The movie, based on three sisters and a brother who have to tolerate one another for three days until they scatter the ashes of their late father before they part ways, is aimed to educate people about the importance of family. Before the siblings can return to their own lives chaos reigns as secrets are revealed and relationships tested.
Information made available to Polokwa­ne Observer highlighted that the movie tells the story of adult siblings who, after the sudden death of their father, are forced to return to their childhood home – with an assortment of partners, children and issues in tow. The film serves a slice of life and the story is applicable to any culture and race, with hilariously funny moments and deeply touching ones, it was learnt.
Mthanji said the movie is about family, the choices people make and finding redemption. He added that viewers might recognise someone they know or even recognise themselves in the story.
This humoristic tale boasts an impressive cast which includes Leeanda Reddy, Bollywood star Lillette Dubey, Jailoshini Naidoo, Kajal Bagwandeen, Rahul Brijnath, Pranesh Maharaj, Ruben Naidoo and Zakeeya Patel. They are joined on screen by Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Tumi Morake and Ashish Gangarpersad and newcomer Kiara Govender.
“No family is perfect but family is important. The movie is also meant to contribute in creating a fruitful film market in Africa. Once we are done in cinemas, the film will be televised,” he explained, and concluded by saying people would learn a lot from the movie.
