After four weeks of workshops and competitive activities, nine beauty queens, aged between 19 and 24, will battle it out on stage for Miss Limpopo 2019 title at Sun Meropa on Saturday.
The finalists are Phoebe Kgomoesoana, Veronica Ledwaba, Maggie Segwapa, Linah Maleka, Charmagne Nkosi, Ethel Maimela, Shiluva Mthombeni, Sally Sithole and Nhlalala Maluleke. The competition started with 13 entries of which some had to withdraw due to various reasons while others failed to meet the pageant standards. The finalists will be competing for amazing prizes at stake.
Miss Limpopo Trust chairperson Matlakala Bopape emphasised that it was going to be a tough challenge because all the women are committed and gifted. They have been attending workshops, engaged in fun competitions and were involved in numerous community projects, she explained.
“These young women are brilliant and they showed us flames during a talent show we had last Saturday. They are just amazing and I am confident that the winner will represent the trust well in her duties. Most of them are university students and some are even paying their own fees which shows that they are responsible,” Bopape commented.
The pageant is not just an ordinary beauty competition like the rest, it offers more than that, she stressed and reiterated that it unearths diamonds among young women and nurtures them into future leaders. Bopape invited residents to support the event which is scheduled for 18:30 and tickets are sold at R450 per person.
