One hundred local golfers had their sight on the prizes at stake in different divisions of a golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.
In men’s A division, Thabo Shingange took the lead with 70 points followed by Adam Milanzi and Mmemezi Dlamini with 71 points on a count in and on count out respectively.
The men’s B-division was won by Louis Opperman who finished with 68 points while Jan Nel completed on 69 and Keith Hoare managed 70 points. Kobus Geeringh made his opponents eat dust in men’s C-division after accumulating 69 points to occupy the first place. Carel de Jager was second with 71 and Albie du Plessis third with 74 points.
Callie Swart was awarded for playing nearest to pin eight while Willem Nieman played nearest to pin 11. Dlamini and Andries du Plessis won prizes for the longest drives at number two and 18 respectively. None of the golfers managed to get their hands on the jackpot that stood at 2 160 units with 1 728 units payable.
