Following their narrow 0-1 defeat against the on form Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club at Thohoyandou Stadium last Sunday, Black Leopards Football Club has promised their fans that they will not falter in their upcoming matches.
Since the start of the season the team has accumulated a mere five points from five matches, lost two and won a single encounter.
Club spokesperson Berry Ramunenyiwa said they need to win matches in order to stay afloat in the while occupying the 10th position in the Premier Soccer League. “Celtic was lucky to escape. We played very well, we dominated in both halves of the match but we could convert our chances. However, we are still learning in the league and we can assure our supporters we will win the upcoming matches,” Ramunenyiwa said.
Their next challenge will be against MTN 8 finalists, Supers Sport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
It will be a tricky match as the teams have never played against each other and Leopards would need a victory to avoid their third consecutive defeat of the season. “It is a must win match for us and we can’t afford to lose the match. They are also coming from a defeat and they would want to redeem themselves but we also need maximum points,” Ramunenyiwa said.
Celtic’s goal was scored by Tshegofatso Mabasa in the first half of the match after receiving a superb pass from midfielder Ndumiso Mabena.
