BREAKING NEWS – R25 000 reward for stolen Getac computer

Micro Tech Group South Africa is offering R25 000 to anyone who can help them to recover a Getac computer that was allegedly stolen on 30 July from an Eskom vehicle that was parked on the corner of Market and Devenish streets.
A case of theft has been opened with the Police.
The equipment, said to be worth R1,1 million, is used during fly-in inspections using a helicopter, to detect and store information defects on high voltage transmission lines.
The information is used during outage and maintenance management.
According to Maphuti Meso, Investigating Officer at Eskom there are only three Getac computers in the country and it will be difficult for them to find another equipment. “The equipment is manufactured in Sweden. We are left with only two sets of equipment in the country, so we are calling on anyone with information to contact Maphuti Meso Investigating Officer at Eskom (079 377 6807), Eben van Niekerk, detective at SAPS Polokwane (082 859 4897) and Tsakani Mathebula, Detective Commander at SAPS Polokwane (082 628 3172),” he said.
