The Ebenezer water plant is out of operation due to an electricity problem and low pressure and shortages may be expected in lower catchment areas until the challenge is resolved.
Stakeholder Relations Officer of Polokwane Municipality, Disree Manyane, said in a media release this morning (Friday) that another notice has been received from Lepelle Northern Water that the Ebenezer plant is off again due to electricity challenges after it experienced the same challenge yesterday. “They are putting in every effort to speedily resolve this matter together with the Tzaneen Municipality. As a result, Ga-Mamabolo, Mankweng, the city area and Seshego may be affected whilst the electricity is being sorted. The municipality will continue supplying temporary relief to affected areas through water tankers,” Manyane said and added that reservoir levels remain critically low and supply is received from Olifantspoort.
Manyane apologised for any inconveniences and advised residents in the low catchment areas that are receiving water, to use water sparingly to avoid critical shortages.
