Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) who reportedly shot and killed taxi owner William Thononda (65) in front of his house in Block F, Thohoyandou yesterday (Wednesday).
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe indicated that Thononda had apparently parked his vehicle in front of the gate to his residential premises where he was attacked and shot.
A witness told Police that he heard several shots being fired and reportedly saw a Toyota Yaris with a Gauteng registration number speeding away from the scene.
Ngoepe said the motive behind the killing was not clear yet but that taxi violence could not be ruled out.
