Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Onicca Moloi’s alleged resignation note on social media raised eyebrows and a lot of questions. It is alleged that Moloi took to social media and posted her resignation note with sources claiming that she also forwarded her resignation letter to Premier Stan Mathabatha.
Polokwane Observer attempted to access the note on social media but it seems like Moloi’s account does not exist anymore. A source confirmed that the note made rounds on social media this week.
When Premier’s spokesperson Kenny Mathivha was questioned about the note and the letter, he said “The Premier has been busy with the African National Congress conference and funeral of Mama Joyce Mashamba. We saw a Facebook resignation and unfortunately a member of the executive council (MEC) is never appointed on Facebook. If there is such a letter we will only know by next week. But remember, the MEC never received a letter when she was appointed.”
Polokwane Observer contacted Department of Sport, Arts and Culture spokesperson Kola Maila, MEC’s spokesperson Moloko Moloto and Moloi for a comment but their phones rang unanswered.
