The University of Limpopo (UL) prides itself on being a public higher education institution that offers only degree programmes that are fully accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and, where applicable, the relevant professional bodies.
As part of continuously improving its offerings, UL last week announced that the CHE recently accredited its undergraduate Social Work and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees, two of its most prestigious programmes. In a media statement released last Thursday UL Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Mahlo Mokgalong was quoted to have said the social work degree will be re-introduced with effect from January 2019 and the LLB degree, currently on offer, will be delivered with renewed focus and refreshed content.
“The re-accreditation status for the two programmes is exciting news for us. The two programmes are a welcome addition to an extensive suite of accredited programmes at the university. This is also a demonstration of our commitment to ensuring that our programmes remain responsive to societal needs and address the changing labour market exigencies. We are indeed proud to add these programmes to our panoply of disciplines.”
“The university looks forward to receiving a new cohort of undergraduate students for enrolment in the Social Work programme in January 2019. In addition, the re-accreditation of the LLB programme will enable the university to continue training aspirant legal professionals through a progressive, transformative and cutting-edge curriculum,” Mokgalong was quoted to have indicated.
