Local businesswoman and beauty queen, Wilhrisca Britz (24) is a Top 25 finalist in the national Apprentesses 2018 competition, chosen out of over 60 finalists, and says she is thrilled to bits about making it so far.
Apprentesses is a competition to empower young women in the entertainment industry of South Africa and is considered the perfect platform for any young female between the ages of 18 to 30 to pursue her dreams in the limelight.
Britz, who owns and manages Elite Beauty Solutions in Polokwane, and was crowned Mrs Limpopo 2017, has a long string of beauty titles behind her name. She trained for a year at Colourworks International where she qualified as an image consultant, and a fashion, beauty pageant and wedding etiquette stylist. Even though she is still young, she has already gained close to 10 years in the industry.
Her very first beauty pageant title was that of Miss Falcon Rock Spur 2000 when she was six years old. “When I first started
in the beauty industry it was my mother’s dream but it grew on me with time and I eventually decided to make it my career,” she explains, adding that she entered the competition to promote her company and gain more tools and contacts to do so.
“Being an Apprentesses finalist and making it this far is very exciting and hard work, but hard work will pay off,” she says.
The public can vote for her by sending an SMS containing her name and surname to 35959. SMSes cost R3 each.
