The ongoing Operation Fiela II continues to return positive results with 536 offenders being arrested across the province on the weekend.
The arrestees, aged between 22 and 55, and suspects in crimes ranging from armed robbery and theft to possession of dagga and drugs.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe highlighted some of the successes and said two suspects wanted for a series of business robberies were arrested in Seshego. They are possibly also linked to other crimes in the area. Eight suspects wanted for business robbery and burglary were arrested in the Makhado Cluster and found to be in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.

A large amount of dagga was confiscated.

In the Musina and Thohoyandou Policing areas five suspects aged between 28 and 41 were arrested for drug dealing, cultivation of dagga, burglary and theft from a motor vehicle. A 30-year-old man was arrested for rape and possession of ammunition in Lebowakgomo, according to Ngoepe.
He added that three suspected stolen motor vehicles, three cell phones, 54 boxes of school shoes, dagga worth R3 000, 33 rounds of live rifle ammunition and 48 sachets of nyaope were confiscated during the arrests.
Acting Provincial Police Commissioner Jan Scheepers applauded all who participated in the operation for a job well done. He also thanked community members for their continuous provision of valuable information that lead to the arrest of suspects.
