Following protest action at Ga-Rena Rental Village on Sunday night and threats of further action to be taken yesterday (Monday) evening, the situation in the establishment was stable and peaceful overnight, with Police and Polokwane Municipality’s Public Safety Unit monitoring the area.
Communications and Marketing Manager of the municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo confirmed that no reports of further unrest were received and that no meeting between municipal officials or the municipality and the tenants of Ga-Rena Rental Village took place yesterday as no request in that regard was received.
Limpopo Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed earlier this morning that the situation is still normal and that no further incidents were reported.
