Phillemon Ramothapo, a glass and aluminium supplier from Makotopong village could not believe his luck when his entry was drawn as the winner of Dada’s World of Hardware Suzuki Super Carry competition on Saturday.
Myriads of hopeful Dada’s World of Hardware customers had entered the competition in which the Suzuki Super Carry, a lightweight commercial vehicle retailing at R180 000, was the grand prize.
To enter clients had to spend R1 000 or more in store between 23 April until 9 June and the winners were then determined by lucky draw.
“I still can’t believe I won the main prize of the competition. I was not keen to enter because I had participated in so many of them without success. One of the staff members at the shop said I must just try my luck and look me now. I want to thank Dada’s for coming up with this kind of competition because it is life changing,” Ramothapo said.
Ramothapo said the truck will come in handy in his small business which he established last year. “My business is still small but it has grown within a short space of time. I have lots of clients now. We only had one bakkie and it could not carry the entire work load. The new vehicle will help us a lot and also grow the business,” concluded Ramothapo.
Other winners were Abel Mahlatji from Ga-Dikgale village who won a R10 000 in-store voucher and Flora Maboya, who walked away with a Hisense television set which retails for R5 665.
