Twenty-four of the best bowls players in the province, 12 men and 12 women, participated in the Champion of Champions bowls tournament at the Polokwane Bowls Club on Saturday and Sunday.
Speaking on behalf of the club, Issie Coetzer said 12 bowls clubs from around the province each sent their top male and female player to contest for the title of Champion of Champions.
The female Champion of Champions emerged as Trish Baragwanath from Duiwelskloof Bowls Club followed by Kitty de Bruin, Louis Trichardt Bowls Club, Lizette Deacon, Polokwane Bowls Club and Annamarie van der Merwe, Louis Trichardt Bowls Club.
The male Champion of Champions was Tollie Venter from Warmbaths Bowls Club followed by Ernest du Plessis, Nylstroom Bowls Club, Dawid Wiid, Duiwelskloof Bowls Club and Karel Volschenk, Louis Trichardt Bowls Club.
Coetzer said the weekend saw top notch bowling and was enjoyed by all.
