Police recognises detectives’ excellence

Detectives from all units of the Police in the Province were recognised for excellent service during an awards ceremony at The Ranch Resort last Friday evening. Provincial Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba officiated at the event that was attended by Deputy Provincial Commissioners, Cluster and Station Commanders, representatives of Community Policing Forums and the business and farming communities.
According to Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe, the event was the first of its kind for the province and individual detectives, units, task teams and groups from all levels of command throughout the province were acknowledged and awarded for excellent performance that included apprehending of criminals and crime prevention.
The categories in which awards were made included Best Investigating Officer of the Year, Best Cluster Commander, Best Performing Detective Section, Best Investigation Unit and Best Drug Unit. At time of going to print, details of the awards were awaited.
