Premier Stan Mathabatha is expected to lead a delegation of officials from various government departments to Europe in search of potential investors and to learn more about strategies Europeans use to boost their economy.
Mathabatha during a media briefing held at Mowaneng yesterday (Thursday) announced that he, accompanied by Agriculture MEC Mapula Mokaba-Phukwana, Economic Development, Environment and Tourism MEC Seaparo Sekoati, their heads of department and other officials would depart on Sunday,
Selected officials are to attend meetings in Spain and France for the entire week and Mathabatha emphasised that these meetings would focus on agro-processing and mining. He said France had a rich agricultural economy in Europe hence the Provincial Government wanted to learn from them to boost the agricultural sector in the province.
He concluded that provincial government officials don’t often visit international countries and when they do people should know that it is strictly business. He added that officials deployed to visit other countries would definitely use the lessons learnt to boost Limpopo’s economy and create jobs.
