Casual Day was celebrated throughout the whole country on Friday and residents from Polokwane took up the initiative to show their support for people with disabilities by purchasing a R10 sticker and various clothing items like hats and shirts.
The community used the opportunity to express their personalities in a diverse country by dressing up to the theme ‘Celebrate diversity with people with disabilities’ in aid of various organisations countrywide of which the Association of People with Disabilities (APD) Polokwane and Polokwane Aftercare Centre for Intellectually Impaired Adults formed the local beneficiaries.
Patricia Mokau, National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) Government Liaison Officer, attended the Provincial Casual Day Celebrations at the SAPS Polokwane K9 unit and said that the day could not be the success it currently is if not for the support from the community.
Persone met gestremdhede baat by Loslitdag
