After the immense fun that the city’s residents experienced at last year’s Color Run, many are waiting in anticipation for this year’s run at Mitchell House on 12 August. Tickets cost R270 per individual and R245 per person participating in a team. Participants can buy tickets online at www.thecolorrun.co.za and children younger than 10 years run free.
The Color Run South Africa raised over R500,000 in 2016 for local causes and education-based initiatives in the areas it visited. In addition R10 from each ticket sold was donated by Capitec Bank to its education upliftment programme. This year’s theme is Super Heroes.
“The Superhero Tour underpins the journey towards ongoing personal fulfilment and inner strength. It is time to believe in the superhero in each and every one of us. The Color Run applauds those who inspire us and offer themselves as role models,” the initiative said in a recent media release.
“As part of the campaign, we announced a competition that will see our most inspiring superhero jetting off to an international event, one lucky hero will win an all-expenses paid trip for two to The Color Run in Paris, France, in 2018,” says national event co-ordinator, Trevor Latimer.
“All you have to do is make your best video or post a picture to your Facebook or Twitter page and share on our timeline. Don’t forget to tag us or mention us and we’ll re-post it and show the world.”
The 2017 event has also seen the introduction of the Nashua Corporate Team Package, a fun team-building option with dedicated demarcated picnic spot and catering. For more information, visit the Color Run website at www.thecolorrun.co.za.
“The Color Run events not only focus on an activity that promotes health, but more importantly, the coming together of diverse communities,” says Francois Viviers, Executive Marketing and Communications Manager at Capitec Bank.
“The portion of proceeds donated from ticket sales ensures that The Color Run event will be remembered well beyond the day of the event itself. Making meaningful and impactful changes to the communities in need is one of the reasons why Capitec supports these events, as the initiative is so well aligned with Capitec’s ethos,” says Viviers.
Don your superhero cape and mask and run, walk, skip, or zoom your way through 5 km of kaleidoscopic colour.
