Police arrested four suspects in Phagameng outside Modimolle yesterday (Wednesday) for their alleged involvement in an incident at Tom Burke where firearms, American currency and a vehicle were stolen from a farmhouse earlier this month. They are expected to appear in the Tom Burke Magistrate’s Court soon.
Provincial Police Corporate Communications Head, Motlafela Mojapelo said the four were arrested by a Lephalale Detective Task team as well as members of the Bela-Bela Tracking Team and all stolen firearms were recovered. He said Police initially though three suspects were involved who broke into a farmhouse and reportedly used a grinder to cut open the safe. Soon after the incident was reported, Police recovered the stolen Isuzu bakkie and four television sets not far from the scene.
The suspects are aged between 20 and 50 and are all former employees at the farm, Mojapelo said.
