South Africa’s leading educational finance and fund management solution specialist, Fundi donated R100 000 collectively to the bursary funds of the University of Limpopo and the University of Venda last Thursday.
The donation is the company’s way of ensuring that education reaches as many people as possible, and this is a core reason they decided to lend a helping hand and remain committed to continue enabling education in the country.
Fundi Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amasi Mwela said they decided to donate the money to the two institutions because they strive to ensure that students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds have access to quality education and they also assist with funding for those students. “Education is the passport to the future because tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it. That is why we at Fundi we do everything in our power to ensure that it is accessible to as many people as possible. Fundi is passionate about helping people to get an education, thus offering a variety of education specific products that will help their customers throughout their education journey,” Mwela said.
He added that when he became the CEO of the company, one of his key objectives was to instil the art of supporting educational efforts across the realm and hence they continue to make education happen in more ways than one. “We have also partnered with The Graduate Programme that was established to help address the sustenance needs of students. Through this partnership, Fundi has given away 100 Fundi Cards loaded with meal allowances to students which they can use for the rest of the academic year. This is done with the support of other corporates.
The goal with this initiative is to ensure that students need not worry about where their meals will come from daily but rather spend 100% of their attention on their studies.
