Limpopo Beauty Modelling Academy hosted their 7th annual Award- and Graduation Fashion Show at a local lodge on Saturday and rewarded the models for their hard work over the past year.
More than 400 guests attended the event and 39 models aged 4 to 26 participated in the show.
Twenty-five models graduated and were presented with custom-made graduation caps and gowns.
“The academy is all about grooming young girls to become confident young ladies who are motivated to achieve their goals and become role models in their communities,” Katryn Cilliers, owner of the academy, explained.
“It is such an honour to see these young shy girls transform into top models,” she said.
The academy also awarded Limpopo Beauty Ambassador sashes to all the hard working models.
For Cilliers this wat truly a night to remember. “Many kids are being bullied at school and at the academy we aim at building these girls’ self-esteem through a variety of fun fashion shows, photo shoots and other events. I am so proud of my models.
Their hard work and persistence inspires me daily,” she said.

Jeane-mari de Jonge, a model from Tzaneen Branch, graduated with her educator’s diploma in modelling with 80%. According to Cilliers (right), De Jonge joined the Academy seven years ago to build her self-asteem as she was a very shy girl who had been bullied from a very young age. “Her whole life changed after joining the academy and today she is a beautiful top model with more than 40 titles and awards toher name,” she says. “Jean-Mari is a great inspiration to all young girls.”
