Despite losing their first match of the National First Division (NFD) to Thanda Royal Zulu who beat them 2-1 at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, the management of Magesi Football Club is confident that they will win other remaining matches in the Division.
Magesi will travel to Cape Town on 10 September for their second match of the season against FC Cape Town at Athlone stadium.
Head Coach, Jacky Ledwaba said they played well against Thanda but failed to convert their chances. “It was clear that we lacked experience in the Division. We created many chances in the first and second half of the match but we only converted one. I believe in the team we have assembled and I think we will do well in other matches,” Ledwaba said.
He described their match against FC Cape Town as another hurdle in the Division. “It will be our first time playing in Cape Town. We have never played any match there and we are looking forward to a great battle,” Ledwaba said.
Team’s General Manager, Hero Makgamatha said their match against Thanda was a learning curve and they will redeem themselves against FC Cape Town. “We have to be optimistic. We have a new team and we are also new in the Division and we will work hard to ensure that we win all the matches,” Makgamatha said. Lethal striker, Noah Maimela said he was happy to have scored his first goal of the season.
