Young beauty in need of funds

BRIDGETTE Minyuku, recently crowned Miss Spring Polokwane, needs to raise at least R69 000 to enable her to compete in the International Showcase that takes place in New York, US next year

BRIDGETTE Minyuku, who was recently crowned Miss Spring Polokwane, has an opportunity to compete in the International Showcase that takes place in New York, US next year.

Bridgette has to raise at least R69 000 to enable her to compete in the pageant.

According to Just You Model and Artist Management Agency representative, Sam Williams, Bridgette will have to cover all expenses for herself, including flight tickets and accommodation.

Williams says finalists have to raise at least R7 000 every month for eight months and send it to the agency.

Bridgette earned her place as finalist during the International Showcase event that was held at Sun Meropa in March.

“There were international judges during the showcase and I was told that they were impressed. I then competed in the national finals that were held at Monte Casino on Saturday October 18,” Bridgette explains.

She adds that she was ecstatic when she heard that she was selected to form part of the group that is going to New York, but a little stressed when she heard how much money she needed to raise.

“I am looking for sponsorship and people who can help me raise money. The showcase means a lot to me and I don’t think I can just let it slip through my fingers,” she says. She further says her wish is to enter the Miss South Africa pageant in the future.

Bridgette urges young people to stay focused and work hard to realise their dreams. Anyone who is willing to assist her can contact her at 072 654 4882 or 079 775 6412.
