Ford’s 1.0-liter EcoBoost continues to prove itself well, finding favour as one of the best powerplants in the world.
To confirm it yet again, the tiny engine was for the fifth consecutive year announced as International Engine of the Year recently. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost delivers impressive fuel economy, as expected from such a small engine, but don’t let the size compromise on performance. The turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine delivers 92 kW of power and 170Nm of torque and a thrifty 4,9 litre per 100 km.
PowerShift delivers the perfect combination between automatic convenience and manual efficiency. The six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission selects the next appropriate gear at precisely the right moment for lightning-fast gear changes, with no disruption to the flow of power. The manual mode lets you switch gears at the push of a button with no clutch required.
The Fiesta impresses from first sight with a sleek and modern design. Cool, modern and sleek, from its elongated headlights to the aerodynamic rear spoiler. The Fiesta stands out in a crowd and comes with a wealth of features, including automatic headlights that sense when they need to turn on, as well as rain-sensing wipers that turn on and adjust their speed automatically for light or heavy rain.

The interior is stylish and packed with modern technology.

The interior is stylish and inviting and packed with modern day technology to ensure a comfortable and safe journey. The voice activated SYNC system keeps the driver in touch without lifting a finger. The car allows the driver to use his phone via Bluetooth, call family or friends only by saying their names, play music or use an iPhone or iPad hands-free.
The Fiesta also offers keyless entry and a Start/Stop button and if pulling away on a hill cause a little anxiety, the Fiesta’s Hill Launch Assist (HLA) stops the vehicle from rolling downhill for the few seconds it takes to move your foot from the brake to the accelerator.
An exciting feature is the Fiesta’s electronic power-assisted steering which detects speed and adjusts the weightiness of the steering wheel accordingly for optimum control. It even adapts to road conditions and strong winds to help keep the driver safely on track.
Ford did not focus on creating an award winning engine only but also on equipping the Fiesta with top class safety features. It has a five star European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) rating. It is the highest safety rating and the vehicle has to pass rigid testing that pushes its protective and preventative features to the limit. The Fiesta hosts up to seven (depending on the model) airbags – for the driver and front passenger as well as front and back side and curtain airbags plus one for the driver’s knees.
To view the Ford Fiesta or for more information visit Galactic Auto on the corner of Hans van Rensburg and Excelsior streets or contact them on 015 287 1700.
