Success story of Far North Frozen Foods

From a small company that started in 2007 with only one bakkie, Far North Frozen Foods has grown into the well known retail giant that it is today.
Founded by Asfaque Shaikh and Abdullah and Naeem Khan, the company started off selling chicken heads and feet as well as chicken offal. Late in 2008 the company merged with the Dawood Group and started growing exponentially. Today Far North Frozen Foods owns a fleet of five delivery trucks and three vans. The company also employs 32 people.
Their product range includes frozen and fresh chicken products, hake, frozen vegetables, samoosas and cold drinks. They are proud to say that their fresh chickens are not injected with any chemicals.
Far North Frozen Foods caters to large companies, hospitals and hotels as well as smaller businesses like guesthouses and tuck shops. They also supply several schools and prisons.
According to Floor Manager Helleen-Jean Münger, the company also caters to residents of the city. “Whether you are looking for ready to eat and ready to cook items, or something special for the braai, we have what you need. Our ‘Flippen Lekker Hot Wings’ is a great favourite in Polokwane.” Far North Frozen Foods’ delivery footprint covers all of Limpopo. They are open from 07:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and from 07:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays and situated in 84 Bok Street.
