Traffic services branch out to more remote areas

Municipal traffic services are now centralised across the municipality to benefit the community, according to a press release issued last week.

POLOKWANE – Municipal traffic services are now centralised across the municipality to benefit the community, according to a press release issued last week.

Previously traffic services were rendered on a full time basis in the city, Seshego, and the Mankweng-Sebayeng areas.

Following the opening of the Moletjie and the Chuene-Maja-Molepo offices, officials have been deployed to these offices on a full time basis.

Residents from these clusters will now benefit from road traffic safety through various traffic-related activities including traffic control, escort services, traffic and municipal by-laws enforcement, speed checks, impounding of vehicles and road safety, scholar patrol and awareness education.

These services will soon be supplemented with licensing activities including learners’- and drivers’ licenses testing.

One of the advantages of these services being centralised, is that residents need no longer travel to the city centre to pay their traffic dues.

Further enquiries pertaining to the required services or complaints may be reported directly at the offices or by calling the control centre number (015) 290 2457/8, available 24 hours, se-ven days a week.
