Magezi Football Club not scared of Bidvest Wits

Log leaders of the ABC Motsepe League Limpopo Division Magezi Football Club are aiming to cause a major upset when they play Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Bidvest Wits in the last 16 match of the of the Nedbank Cup at a date to be announced.
To reach the last 16 of the tournament, Magezi beat fellow ABC Motsepe League campaigners Eastern Cape Bees 2-1 at Buffalo Stadium in East London two weeks ago.
Wits won the tournament in 2010 after beating Amazulu 3-0 at FNB stadium in Gauteng.
Coach Jacky Ledwaba said they are happy to draw former Champions in the last 16 matches of the tournament and they are looking forward to the match.
“We are aware of Wits and their form in their league. They are on the second position and we are number one in our own league. We do respect them, but we are not scared of them. The nicest thing about playing such matches is that one does not need to motivate the players, the match on its own is a motivation.
“We are the only team from the third division in the tournament. We have nothing to lose but a lot to gain. This is a big stage for boys and a rare platform for them to show the whole of South Africa what they are capable of. I am confident that they will win the match,” added the former Amazulu player.
The Moletjie based team will rely on the inform players, Sekhale Mhlabathi, Wonderboy Makhubu and Dibate Mahlakwana to take the team to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
“Mhlabathi and Makhubu scored the winning goals against Bees, they are on form and we hope that they will bring in the same vein of form into the match against Wits,” concluded Ledwaba.
