Childline Limpopo, in partnership with Bodylife Polokwane, staged their annual fun run over 5 and 8 km on Saturday to raise funds for the organisation’s provincial branch. Participants followed a circle route starting from and ending at the Childline offices in Hans van Rensburg Street.
Priscilla Molaudzi, Director of Childline Limpopo explained that they wanted to raise funds for the organisation’s crisis line which assists victims of child abuse.
“We have volunteers working there. Some of them don’t receive stipends so the money raised will help to compensate them,” she said. All proceeds from entries will be utilised for the purpose.
She said the 160 participants who entered the fun run was slightly more than last year’s 140 entries. “We were happy about the turnout. This is clear indication that the event is growing we would like to thank all who took part in the event,” Molaudzi said.
