Mazda has always been known for producing quality vehicles varying from family sedans to the powerful BT50 bakkie and since April the brand has been operating on its own in Polokwane focussing on excellent customer service after a successful partnership of 14 years with Galactic Auto.
BB Mazda Polokwane is a result of a recent decision by Mazda to separate ways with Ford. “We are very happy with the new dealership and our aim is to let the Mazda family grow bigger and better. Mazda is slowly but surely busy to earn itself a bigger part in the local motor industry. BB Mazda Polokwane is proudly part of the BB Group and one of 49 Mazda dealerships countrywide,” Mazda General Sales Manager Jaco Pretorius said.
The dealership employs five sales executives and a financial and insurance consultant. “The team is just as exited and eager to get each potential buyer behind the steer of a brand new Mazda that will meet their needs. The team is professional and provide superb customer service. The team is well informed with extensive product knowledge on all vehicles available,” Pretorius said. Services on all Mazda vehicles are still to be done at Galactic Auto.
The past couple of months were synonymous with the launch of various new models such as the nippy Mazda 2, sexy hatchback Mazda 3, family sedan Mazda 6 and a all time favourite Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), Mazda CX-5.
“Mazda enthusiast can look forward to the launch of the CX-3, the baby brother of the CX-5 which will be available early in last quarter of the year,” Pretorius said.

This car’s design has a sporty flair that expresses motion when you look at it, provoking an emotional response from your first impression. In 1920, the Toyo Cork Kogyo Company was founded in Hiroshima, Japan by Jujiro Matsuda. As the name suggests, the company initially manufactured cork. But Matsuda soon branched out into cars and in 1931 the name Mazda was born. It refers to the name Matsuda as well as the West Asian God of wisdom, intelligence and harmony, Ahura Mazda.
When looking at the cars Mazda has built over the last 90 years, it’s easy to see that thinking differently has led to exciting, innovative and fun-to-drive cars, made by a unique group of passionate individuals. From the best-selling MX-5 to the agile CX-7, Mazda has continued to make the most of its innovative engineering traditions and convention-defying.
