5 houses torched in mob justice incident in Limpopo

A manhunt has been launched for those involved.

LIMPOPO – The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned incidents of mob justice at Ravele village.

Hadebe instructed police officers in Tshilwavhusikhu, outside Louis Trichardt, to hunt down the people involved in the torching of five houses on Tuesday night (June 8). 

A statement by police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said a manhunt has been launched.

“Preliminary police investigations revealed that this incident of mob justice could be linked to the murders that were previously committed in the area. The suspects in these cases have already been arrested,” he explained.

Mojapelo requested anyone with valuable information, to contact the station commander Lt Col Maphefo Machaba on 082 461 7163 or the Crime Stop Number on 08600 10111.
