[INFOGRAPHIC] Limpopo dam levels record slight drop

The latest State of Dams report issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation indicates that the provincial water storage dropped 0.9% past week. See the dam levels as recorded on 19 April, here: 

LIMPOPO – Department of Water & Sanitation’s Media Liaison Director Sputnik Ratau says the provincial water storage has slightly decrease recording 87.3% this week as opposed to last week report of 88.2%, whilst last year during this time of the year it recorded 72.9%.

In the Mopani district, Hans merensky Dam has slightly dropped recording 101.9% this week compared to last week recording of 102.3% and at the same time Ebenezer has recorded 98.7% showing some improvement compared to last week report of 97.9%.

Last year this time, the dam was sitting at 20.4%, he said.

De Hoop Dam in the Sekhukhune district, also recorded a slight drop from l96.8% this week from last week’s 100%, while Nandoni Dam remains the same at 101.8%.

Albasini Dam in the Luvuvhu area maintains the same capacity recording 100.1% this week as recorded last week and Rust De Winter Dam increased slightly, reaching 100.5% this week as opposed 100.2% which was recorded in the  Weekly State of Dams report last week.

Water users are reminded to use water sparingly as we are approaching the winter dry season. “Report any leakages and burst pipes in order to save water,” he concluded.
