#LufunoMavhunga: Case against arrested teen to continue today
The matter will be heard in camera as the girl is a minor and it is being dealt with in accordance to the Child Justice Act.
POLOKWANE – The case of the 15-year-old Limpopo school girl who assaulted fellow learner, Lufuno Mavhunga (15), was heard for the first time on Friday, 16 April.
The girl was arrested on Wednesday, 14 April, after a video went viral of the incident.
Mavhunga later died after she overdosed on tablets and was found unconscious by her mother.
Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, at the time, said Mavhunga was taken to Siloam Hospital where she was certified dead on arrival.

According to the Director of Public Prosecutions’ Regional Spokesperson, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, the girl’s case was heard by both parties’ lawyers earlier today during a preliminary inquiry.
Malabi-Dzhangi told Review that a social worker’s statement was heard during the inquiry.
“The girl is currently in a centre and will appear in the Thohoyandou Children’s Court again on 20 April when she applies for bail,” she added.
