Covid-19 vaccine: Persons over 60 requested to start registering

Phase two of the vaccine rollout will initially focus on persons older than 60.

POLOKWANE – Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has made a call to senior citizens, who are 60 years and older, to register for the Covid-19 vaccination.

The Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) was made live at 16:00 on Friday, 16 April, and Mkhize urged these residents to register as soon as possible.

“Vaccination is voluntary. Everyone who registers will be offered a vaccination. We will start with people over 60 years and older and move down the age groups as quickly as possible. When it is your turn to get vaccinated, you will receive an SMS with the date, time and place for your vaccination,” the department said in a Facebook post.

Phase two of the vaccine rollout will initially focus on persons older than 60.
