Water supply to be restored after eight hours, says muni

The Polokwane Municipality has been notified about a water supply stoppage at one of Lepelle Northern Water's plants.

POLOKWANE – The Municipality’s Spokesperson, Thipa Selala, has informed Review that residents in certain parts of the city and surrounding areas will be without water supply for a large part of the day.

Selala said Lepelle Northern Water earlier notified them about the stoppage on the Olifantspoort line.

“The water utility said the plant was stopped due to repairs that need to be conducted on a main pipeline. LNW has estimated eight hours until completion of repairs,” he added.

Selala said the areas to be affected by the stoppage is Ga-Maja, Ga-Chuene, Thokgwaneng and the city, as well as Seshego.

“Water supply shall be restored once Lepelle Northern Water has completed repairs. Users who continue to receive supply, are urged to use water sparingly,” he requested.

Selala urged residents to report water-related challenged such as leaks, burst pipes and supply shortage, to the Municipal Water and Sanitation Helpline at 015 023 5376 / 5629.
