Multi-vehicle collision south of Nyl Plaza claims three lives
The incident involved two sedans, a van and a truck.
LIMPOPO – Three people have died and ten were injured in a multi-vehicle south of Nyl Plaza earlier this afternoon.
The incident involved four vehicles and according to Mike Maringa, Media Liaison Officer for the Department of Transport and Community Safety the collision happened on the N1 at Tobias outside Mookgophong in the Waterberg District.Â
‘It is alleged the driver of a sedan lost control of the vehicle and collided with a van, another sedan and a truck.”
He added that seven people were critically inured while three escaped with minor injuries. “Preliminary investigations revealed that a burst tyre may be the leading cause of the incident.”
Both northbound lanes are still closed for traffic and motorists are being diverted on to the R101 at Mookgophong. One southbound lane is open for traffic.

It is reported that three vehicle, a bakkie, sedan and truck are involved.

“Only one southbound lane is open for traffic.” Traffic is heavily back-up and motorists are advised to be patient and to approach the scene with caution.
