#ThemaneTrial: “See how the Big 5 commit a murder”, court hears

The muder trial will continue from 6-9 April in the Limpopo High Court, Polokwane Division, to allow for further investigation.

POLOKWANE – The murder trial of Flora Park resident, Thorisho Themane continued in the Limpopo High Court, Polokwane Division this week and saw six witnesses take the stand.

On Friday, the Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, said witness five and six relayed how they assaulted Themane with open hand, kicked him with booted foot and hit him with bottles of alcohol.

According to the witnesses, Themane then fled to the nearest church for assistance, which was locked, and ended up at a neighbour where the group continued to assault him.

“Both witnesses indicated that they invited other gangs to join them in assaulting the deceased. They also mentioned that accused number three said ‘come and see how the big five commit a murder’, while continuing to assault him,” Malabi-Dzhangi said.

The court also heard that accused number one asked Themane about the church but “he never uttered a word” and was later left on the scene unconscious.

Malabi-Dzhangi added that the trial will continue from 6-9 April in the Limpopo High Court, Polokwane Division, to allow for further investigation.
