POLOKWANE – The Hawks on Friday, 29 January, arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a fraudulent deal at a local vehicle dealership in November 2019.
It is alleged the man used fraudulent documents to secure vehicle finance at the said dealership and according to Hawks Spokesperson, Capt Matimba Maluleke the transaction was worth R450 000.
Maluleke said at the time the vehicle finance was successfully approved by the dealership and the accused received the vehicle in Mpumalanga. “The bank only became suspicious when he failed to pay his first installment and investigated. It was later discovered that the documents that he had submitted when he applied for the finance were forged and the matter was referred to the Hawks for further handling.”
