Local traffic centre closes doors

Residents with rates-related enquiries, statement requests or payments, can still visit the municipal offices, says Mayor Andrina Matsemela, Mogalakwena Municipality.

MOKOPANE – The Mogalakwena Local Municipality’s Traffic and Licence rates hall is closed for deep cleaning after an official tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement issued by the Mogalakwena Municipality, the offices will be fogged, fumigated and sanitised according to Covid-19 protocol.

“Residents with rates-related enquiries, statement requests or payments can still visit the municipal offices since its different departments,” said Mayor Andrina Matsemela.

She added that drivers licence examinations and driving tests on Thursday and Friday, will continue. “Customers who booked to write their drivers licence examination or to take their driving test on Thursday and Friday, will not be stopped. Only the licence rates hall will be closed, there will be no cashiers.”

Normal operations are set to resume on Monday, however, Matsemela added that the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
