Limpopo records 679 new Covid-19 cases in last 24-hours

According to the latest statistics by the Health Department, as of 26 December the number of cumulative cases is the province stands at 21 898.

LIMPOPO – According to the Limpopo Health Department’s Covid-19 statistics the number of active cases climbed to 2 218 and recoveries to 19 136.

Of the 679 new cases the majority were recorded in the Capricorn district, with Polokwane having recorded a total of 279 cases. Lepelle Nkumpi recorded 29 new cases, Blouberg (10) and Molemole (6).

A total of 115 new cases were reported in the Waterberg district; Modimolle-Mookgophong (56), Lepahale (31), 11 each in Mogalakwena and Thabazimbi and Bela-Bela (6).

The Vhembe district followed with 114 new cases; 53 in Thulamela, Makhado (33), Collins Chabane (22) and Musina (6). A total of 76 new cases were reported in the Mopani district; Tzaneen (44), Giyani (14), Ba-Phalaborwa (8), Letaba (7) and Maruleng (3).

The Sekhukhune district recorded 40 new cases, Elias Motsoaledi (20), Fetakgomo/Tubatse (10), Makhuduthamaga (8) and Ephraim Mogale (2). Of the new cases reported 10 cases are unallocated.
